About Our School
Scoil Mhuire, Tallow is a Roman Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Waterford and Lismore. Presently there are twelve teachers working in the school including six Classroom Teachers, one A.S.D class and five Special Education teachers. There are also four SNAs working in the school and a school secretary.
Scoil Mhuire is a mixed school with classes from Junior Infants to Sixth class and we currently have one hundred and fifty four children in the school. The school was built in 1980 to facilitate the amalgamation of the old boys and girls school in the town.
In September 2022 we opened our first A.S.D Class, which has been a fantastic addition to the school. In the same year we were given Deis Rural status which allows us provide free hot lunches to all our pupils every day.
