About Our School
Scoil Mhuire, Tallow is a Roman Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Waterford and Lismore. Presently there are fourteen teachers working in the school including six Classroom Teachers, two A.S.D classes, four Special Education teachers and one EAL teacher. There are also seven SNAs working in the school and a school secretary.
Scoil Mhuire is a mixed school with classes from Junior Infants to Sixth class and we currently have one hundred and fifty children in the school. The school was built in 1980 to facilitate the amalgamation of the old boys and girls school in the town.
In September 2022 we opened our first A.S.D Class, which has been a fantastic addition to the school. In the same year we were given Deis Rural status which allows us provide free hot lunches to all our pupils every day. We recently opened our second A.S.D class in August 2025.
“This school now has high speed broadband connectivity through the Department of Education School Broadband Programme, delivered as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.”
